Use this process only when a tree is confirmed to be dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm. This new online notice process is mandatory and replaces the previous email-based notification.

The information provided in 5 Day Dead or Dangerous Tree TPO/CA Notice Online Form will be used solely by the council for the purposes of processing and recording your statutory notice for tree works under an exception. We will use this data to record the tree works and assess compliance with the Tree Preservation Order and Conservation Area regulations, including any duty to replant. We will ensure that all the information you provide is stored securely and in accordance with data protection law.

Please upload photographic evidence (multiple angles recommended) to confirm that the tree is legally dead (e.g., showing a complete lack of vitality, dead crown, significant decay).

Please upload evidence showing the tree presents a present serious safety risk. This must include a written statement or report from a competent person (e.g., certified arborist) detailing the specific defect (e.g., structural failure, decay) and explicitly stating the tree poses an immediate risk.

Proportionate Solution
